In a significant development for the solar manufacturing industry, ATW Technology has secured agreements with two leading solar manufacturers to upgrade their existing production lines with its innovative 0BB (zero busbar) stringer technology. The combined upgrade capacity of approximately 20GW marks a major milestone of ATW Technology in the commercialization of 0BB technology for TOPCon solar modules.

The announcement comes as the solar manufacturing industry continues its rapid technological evolution from traditional 4BB and 5BB busbar designs through SMBB (super multi-busbar) to the latest 0BB technology, which eliminates busbars entirely. ATW Technology, which commands a 70% global market share in stringer equipment with over 6,000 units deployed worldwide, has positioned itself at the forefront of this transition.

"This technology breakthrough represents more than just an incremental improvement," said an ATW spokesperson. "It's a fundamental shift in solar module manufacturing that offers both technical and economic advantages."

The company's newest ultra-high-speed 0BB stringer, launched mid-2024, showcases ATW Technology's technological strength, backed by over 120 patents and three years of intensive R&D involving nearly 100 researchers. The system's versatile platform architecture supports multiple process technologies including TOPCon, HJT, and BC, with precise temperature control capabilities accommodating various adhesive systems and curing processes.

What sets ATW Tehnology's approach apart is its modular upgrade strategy for existing SMBB equipment, allowing manufacturers to transition to 0BB technology without the need for complete production line replacement. This cost-effective solution has garnered significant industry interest, with additional upgrade projects totaling over 60GW currently under negotiation.

The successful implementation of these upgrades could signal a broader industry shift, with 0BB technology potentially becoming the dominant standard in module manufacturing in mainland China by 2025. ATW Technology's upgrade program has demonstrated high stability in mass production, ensuring high yield rates and reliability for customers' products.

Looking ahead, ATW Technology continues to develop upgrade solutions for BC (back contact) solar cell technology while maintaining its focus on customer-driven innovation. As the solar industry continues its pursuit of higher efficiency and lower costs, ATW Technology's commitment to advancing manufacturing technology positions it as a key enabler of sustainable energy development.

The company's success in securing these major upgrade contracts not only validates its technology leadership but also demonstrates the industry's confidence in 0BB as the next evolutionary step in solar panel manufacturing. With these developments, ATW Technology is helping to shape the future of renewable energy production, making solar power more efficient and cost-effective than ever before.
